Schedule a SessionWhat Is Pediatric Rolfing?
Team Children began as a project by Robert Toporek, an Advanced Certified Rolf Practitioner since 1975, and Dr. Ida P. Rolf, the founder of Rolfing/Structural Integration. The initial purpose was to document, demonstrate, and promote the benefits of Rolfing for babies and children.
Since Dr. Rolf's passing in 1979, Robert has substantially expanded that initial effort. He has published a monograph and an award-winning documentary entitled "The Promise of Rolfing Children."
Rolfing Massage for children is an ongoing experience — every day is a new beginning. Our volunteers learn the power and importance of touch and its role in early childhood education and development.

Early Childhood Education
At TeamChildren, we believe that the power of touch is inseparable from early childhood education. Our High Touch initiative integrates pediatric Rolfing with our broader mission to support children's academic, social, and physical development.
Volunteers who work with us gain hands-on experience in the transformative potential of Rolfing — learning how structural balance and body awareness can unlock a child's full potential in the classroom and beyond.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is Rolfing?
Rolfing Structural Integration is a form of hands-on bodywork developed by Dr. Ida P. Rolf. It works with the body's connective tissue (fascia) to improve alignment, posture, and overall function. For children, it is adapted to be gentle and age-appropriate.
Is Rolfing safe for children?
Yes. Pediatric Rolfing is specifically adapted for babies and children. The touch is gentle and responsive to the child's needs. Robert Toporek has been practicing and teaching pediatric Rolfing since 1975.
What ages can benefit from pediatric Rolfing?
Rolfing can benefit children of all ages — from newborns to teenagers. Each session is tailored to the child's age, size, and individual needs.
